Splittism - Our fearless analysis of both campaigns
By Johnny Bossyman, Head of News and (no more) Bias (Honest!)
In the first of a series of our famous impartial, unbiased reports in this period of regulated campaigning, we invited experienced impartial experts to outline the key points from both sides of the debate.
Who could be more impartial than those who have struggled to keep Britain's economy afloat during troubled times?
Ex-Chancellor, Alastair Darling gave us this impartial analysis of the positive campaign to keep Scotlandshire in perpetual union.
While current Chancellor, Gideon Osborne, provided us with this impressive set of arguments for removing Scotlandshire's resources from his control.
We have given you the facts. Now make up your own minds!
PS BBC London have helpfully put up a poll tracking page (though mistakenly they put it on the spoof channel's website). Cleverly, "It does not include polls conducted on the behalf of any political parties", as these are mainly by the SNP and Greens. They also forgot to say that it also excludes any polls conducted by Yes supporting news sites, while including any conducted by respectable sources such as the Sunday Times..
Their reasoning was simple. Different pollsters produce widely varying measures of opinion on splittism. Naturally, those supporting Yes tend to use ones which produce higher Yes numbers, while the wholly unbiased London MSM use YouGov or ICM which produce higher No numbers.
As with everything else, the only place to look for honest, unbiased information is the BBC.
