Chancellor Osborne: Scotlandshire White Paper cap will protect loyal Unionists

By Nat HunterOur Westminster Correspondent

grumpy osborneChancellor George Osborne said a new law to cap the cost of separatist white papers, which will cover all separatist political parties, would help prevent vulnerable don’t knows and no voters being informed.

The UK Government will bring in powers to impose the restriction through an amendment to the Barnett formula, but the level of the cap will be set by Unionist parties at Holyrood under the supervision of the Scottish Affairs Committee led by MP Chairchoob.

The move comes after Opposition leader Ed Miliband complained earlier this month that the Labour party union funding was drying up and as they couldn’t afford to produce white paper tomes why should the SNP be allowed the privilege. He added hope in Scotlandshire could lead to "riots running through our southern communities".

Ministers had resisted the idea of a cap, warning that separatists could use this as a ploy to undermine the globally respected impartiality of the Westminster Government (may power forever reside in their hands) and less committed no voters could end up being forced into the arms of the separatist Nats.

Mr Osborne said the cap on the cost of separatist white papers would make sure that all blissfully ignorant No voters are "protected".

Blair McDougal of U KOK welcomed the news “We in the much much Bitter Together campaign have worked incredibly hard to ensure that no interest was attached to this ridiculous debate and Mr Osborne’s intervention is just what we need”.

Mr Chairchoob, chairman of HELP (Helping Exploitation of Local Punters) whined “5 million Jocks urnae gonnae read 500 hunner pages o’ this shite. Ah winnae. The wee pretendy parliament just disnae hae the budget to waste on information. The clever people at Whitehall will gie ye aw the facts. Whaur’s ma couch”.
